VoiceWise uses voice analysis as an indicator of people’s well-being.

The Project

VoiceWise is the innovative health screening system based on the analysis of the patient’s voice. It is non-invasive, simple and economical, certified device for the acquisition of vocal samples which interact with a sample processing software in the cloud. This allows data to be processed on an ever-expanding sample base, for specific and efficient monitoring and diagnostic purpose over time.

In addition to the health sector, applications of VoiceWise can be in the areas of wellness, sports and safety. VoiceWise includes products and services for detecting the vocal traces of patients or users, followed by  an analysis of the voice, and feedback on the health status of the person.

What is VoiceWise?

In brief

Each person has a voice that distinguishes them from each other. This is because the voice is influenced by the state of our internal organs, brain activity and boundary conditions. Since the item has thousands of different parameters, from their size you can get information on a person’s health status.

Every different pathology causes variation of single vocal parameters, therefore the analysis of the voice is a tool of evaluation of the state of health. In addition to health, other areas of application have been identified: wellness, sport and safety.

VoiceWise products and services are designed to meet unmet needs, starting with the healthcare sector.

What is VoiceWise?

In brief

The human voice is characterized by thousands of different parameters, which can be analyzed in order to provide information on users’ health. 
Voice analysis is a tool for assessing health status because each pathology causes changes in specific vocal parameters, so VoiceWise products and services are aimed at satisfying unmet needs, starting from the health sector.
In addition to health, other areas of application have been identified, such as wellness, sport and safety.

How it is used

Features

VoiceWise introduces tools and methodologies useful to the doctor in complex situations:

1. early diagnosis (up to the development of predictive models in states prior to the onset of the disease). In the case of Parkinson’s, for example, it is possible to distinguish Parkinson’s from Parkinsonism very early;

2. monitoring the course of diseases and therapies; this is a significant advantage due to the non-invasiveness of the analysis, which makes it repeatable according to specific needs;

3. determination of risk levels of some diseases; for example for dysphagia the vocal analysis allows to define in advance the risk of death by suffocation;

4. monitoring of intake of psychotropic substances, with a rapid and non-invasive analysis (think of road safety).

The goal is to implement research lines dedicated to different pathologies to solve very specific problems. In the space of 5 years the same instrument will be used in wide-range health screening, at very low cost with a simple and above all non-invasive method.
